What to expect when you attend a class
You and your child attend classes together. Classes include time for children and parents to learn, play and make friends.
Parent-child time
You and your child will:
- Sing, read and play together.
- Explore hands-on, age-appropriate activities.
- Meet other children and parents.
Parent discussion time
While your child plays, you will:
- Discuss real-life parenting experiences with other parents.
- Learn practical, research-based parenting strategies.
- Get guidance from a licensed parent educator.
- Learn about child development.
In some classes, children stay with a licensed early childhood teacher during parent discussion time.
- Teachers help children feel comfortable using fun activities and new toys.
- Children build independence and social skills through play.
